Mathieu Larocque has worked in public relations for more than 10 years. After graduating from the University of Ottawa, he worked in the R&D field at the National Research Council and the Canada Foundation for Innovation where he took part in numerous outreach projects aimed at interest kids in sciences and communicate the benefits of university research to the public. He jumped into the political world managing communications for the 2005 Gatineau mayoral campaign and becoming press secretary in the Gatineau Mayor’s Office.
He has been the spokesperson for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority since December 2007. In addition to managing the media relations file, he is also responsible for stakeholder relations. Over the last few years, he faced several complex airport security media situations and led several successful outreach campaigns aimed at information the travelling public of the airport security rules.
