Justine Lalande is currently a doctoral candidate and lecturer in the Department of Social and Public Communication at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her thesis focuses on social representations of the ecological transition and their effects on the social acceptability of proposals related to this transition. Justine is the recipient of a doctoral research grant from the Fonds de recherche du Québec, société et culture (FRQSC). She also holds a master’s degree in administrative sciences (MSc), a post-graduate diploma (DESS) in international development and humanitarian action management, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Université Laval.
Before embarking on her doctoral career, Justine was awarded the Fondation Jean-Charles-Bonenfant scholarship in 2017-2018, which enabled her to complete a parliamentary internship at the Quebec National Assembly. She then went on to work for a public and government relations agency as a senior consultant, where she advised a variety of clients from a wide range of sectors.
Beyond her professional career, Justine is actively involved in her community. Having served on various boards in the past, she currently holds the position of Secretary General of the Academy of Controversy and Sensitive Communication. She was selected to be part of the first cohort of Natural Resources Canada’s Youth Council, and was also named Fellow of the 2023-2024 cohort of Action Canada, Canada’s leading incubator for leadership and public policy.
