Proposed approach
As a first step, Public Relations without borders (PRWB)/Relations publiques sans frontières (RPSF) wants to recruit a project leader.
It will be important for this project leader to travel to Ghana in the early fall of 2024 for one to two weeks, in order, first, to establish their organizational strengths and weaknesses in collaboration with the Oxfam-Ghana team. It will be a question of clearly identifying the absorption capacity of their team in relation to the four fields of needs expressed in their request for support. This assessment will help to modulate the nature and scope of the services required by PRWB.
Secondly, the expected result of this mission on the ground is to agree on a support strategy to prioritize and an operational program to implement.
Subsequently, depending on the strategy and support program developed with Oxfam-Ghana, it is likely that PRWB will mobilize with its network of communication partners, one or two other communications and public relations professionals with specific expertise. The person who will be colleagues he knows, if he wishes.
In the case of two or three resources, a collaboration of a few but limited hours per week is sought over a period of 6 to 9 months in a row. It is desirable that the person who will travel to Ghana can get involved for the duration of the project in order to maintain continuity in relations with partners and consistency in the implementation of the support program.
Such a project, carried out in part in Ghana and mainly in telework in Canada, will certainly be a life experience that will be decisive for those who participate. This is a concrete involvement with communication colleagues in Ghana, a developing country. By sharing their expertise and values, they will receive in turn.
All this work will be done pro bono. However, all expenses related to travel, accommodation, meals, insurance and other eligible expenses for the mission in Ghana are fully covered. All people in the project will benefit from a prep session offered by PRWB/RPSF.
