Committed since 1999 to improve the health of populations, CICDoc quickly turned to its 200 local partner organizations spread across Burkina Faso to strengthen risk communication and community engagement as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Misinformation and ignorance of what to do is always a communication challenge at the start of a pandemic. PRWB heads of mission Colette Schwartz and Jean-Frédéric Légaré-Tremblay lent a hand to Mr. Romaric and his team by co-developing key messages and visuals intended for the entire population, a dissemination strategy of these messages, a media relations strategy, a press release, and an evaluation grid for the results obtained.
CICDoc through its large network of associations working with the support of the Global Fund to Fight Tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria, its extensive experience in the fight against diseases in the community, as well as its very good collaboration with community leaders, and representatives of the health system, is a key partner in the community response to COVID 19 in Burkina Faso.
