Yvan Cliche has held the position of Executive Director of Public Relations Without Borders (PRWB) since January 2019. He sat on the Board of Directors of PRWB from 2012 to 2018, where he was the volunteer in charge of missions, establishing partnerships with various international-cooperation organizations, mainly in Québec but also in Maghreb.

Previously, in 2018, he was working for Hydro-Québec, where he served as project manager at Hydro-Québec International. From 2016 to 2017, he was contracts manager for electrical purchasing (wind, biomass, small hydro) and participated in the work group Hydro-Québec/Île-de-la-Madeleine on the island’s energy transition.

From 2013 to 2016, in affairs outside Québec for Hydro-Québec, Yvan Cliche served as Senior Adviser to the Chair of the World Energy Conference, sat on the Board of Directors of the International Hydropower Association (London), and oversaw the implementation of a solar energy project in Haiti.

Between 2007 and 2011, he worked in the external relations department of the African Development Bank (ADB), in Tunis, and carried out advocacy activities in Africa for development projects established by the institution. He also participated in the annual meetings of the ADB during those years, in Maputo, Dakar, Abidjan and Lisbon.

From 1997 to 2005, Yvan Cliche focused primarily on starting up and managing projects for Hydro-Québec International, carrying out mandates in Africa and Asia funded by Global Affairs Canada and multilateral banks, including the World Bank, and by the Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable.

Yvan Cliche holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Concordia University and a Master’s in Political Science from the Université de Montréal. He is the author of the book Initiation au développement international (2006) and of many articles on international affairs published in various media.

Following his writings about Islam and the Arab world, he was invited under the State Department International Visitor Program in 2003 on the events of September 11, and spent three weeks visiting six American cities to talk with experts. He has also been a member of the boards of directors of various Montréal associations and communities. Yvan Cliche is the recipient of a Médaille d’or awarded by the Université de Montréal in 2004 in recognition of his professional outreach activities.
